The Court’s 5-4 order rejecting Trump’s request to block his sentencing makes clear that in just about any other circumstances, the conservatives would have given him everything he asked for.
Have most of y’alls forgotten the Clinton boarding a plane sitting on the Tarmac episode where republicans went bat shit crazy??? Who knows what they spoke about, perhaps just a hello but I’m pretty sure he was not looking for her to subvert justice to save him from being sentenced as a felon. I so sick of Donald getting away with illegal shit!!!! And even more repulsed by the people that facilitate it.
Just a quick note. Jennifer Rubin (WAPO columnist) is right far more often than the alternative.
Indeed, her critiques of the major News Media outlets has been spot on. And, it's surely been a lonely place for her to be as both the NYT and WAPO have demonstrated the backbone of a Supreme Court Justice...
If Merchan had not given Trump an unconditional discharge, perhaps Roberts&Barrett might have gone the other way. But I wonder is that is ultimately a bad thing. Justice delayed is justice denied, and an extension of outright immunity to *civilian* Trump, before he became President, might finally outrage all of us enough to not remove Trump from power, which we can't, but to remove John Roberts from power. (He's the reason we can't remove or prevent Trump.) TrumpvHawaii's rejection of the 14thA's treason clause and JR's Jim Crow ballot-denialism should have accomplished that long ago, but we are Charlie Brown and the GOP is Lucy.
